By special request of the Fiber Furlough Fiends at Carol Leigh's Hillcreek Fiber Studio, Bex Oliger (internationally recognized indigo dye expert) is offering her special seminar on indigo dyeing. She'll demonstrate four different techniques for indigo dyeing, including a woad, Saxon blue (with sulfuric acid), indigo for protein fibers (wool or silk), and indigo for cellulose fibers.

No previous experience necessary. Wear old clothes and expect them to go home with newly added artistic blue smears and blubs. Incidental indigo tattoos are a free bonus.

Course includes a detailed set of recipes that explain the chemistry and culture of these ancient natural dyes.
